Osteoporosis / Bone Building Exercise Program

Onero™ is an award winning, evidence-based exercise program developed by Dr. Belinda Beck to help improve bone density and prevent osteoporotic fractures by stimulating bone development and preventing falls in at risk individuals. Under supervision of an Onero™ certified practitioner, patients learn exercises that significantly load the bone and the muscular system which translates into stronger bones, improved functional strength and better balance.

Traditional forms of treatment and prevention of Osteoporosis and Osteopenia include prescribing medications, advocating lifestyle changes, hormone replacement therapy, and light exercise. However, through her research and the Liftmor study, Dr. Beck showed significant changes in bone mineral density when it was loaded with weight. Common forms of exercise such as walking, swimming and cycling do not load the bone enough to create positive changes in bone density.

The Onero™ program combines high intensity resistance and impact training while taking into consideration each patient’s history and pre-existing conditions to safely build bone mass and reduce the risk of falls and osteoporotic fractures. Together with your Onero™ certified clinician, you will practice exercises that are carefully selected for you to not only build bone mass, but also improve balance and strength.
